A Little Something for the Mommies

"The Homemaker"

Late nights, early mornings
Dirty dishes, dirty clothes.
Work and play always running
Little kisses, hands and nose.

Iron, bills, snack time now
Toys put away-take five:
Vacuum, sweep, wipe your brow
toys back out, deep sigh.

Grocery carts full of food
Little room for big boy
Stop and laugh, baby cooed
Then, crinkled face, no tears of joy.

Hurry, hurry, can't stop, yet,
As oreos crunch under feet.
Blessid naptime, diapers wet;
Story time, just take a seat.

Weary heads nod in time-
Thank yous and invites to send-
Sit and rest, the remote to find
The baby whines-
"Mommy!"-
Nevermind.
Up again...
