A Little Something for the Mommies

"The Homemaker"

Late nights, early mornings
Dirty dishes, dirty clothes.
Work and play always running
Little kisses, hands and nose.

Iron, bills, snack time now
Toys put away-take five:
Vacuum, sweep, wipe your brow
toys back out, deep sigh.

Grocery carts full of food
Little room for big boy
Stop and laugh, baby cooed
Then, crinkled face, no tears of joy.

Hurry, hurry, can't stop, yet,
As oreos crunch under feet.
Blessid naptime, diapers wet;
Story time, just take a seat.

Weary heads nod in time-
Thank yous and invites to send-
Sit and rest, the remote to find
The baby whines-
"Mommy!"-
Nevermind.
Up again...

Aaron's Mishap

This past Sunday, Aaron was playing on the computer for a little quiet time. Lani and Ian were both asleep, Brad was studying and I had just decided to take a nap when we heard this loud crash followed by screams from Aaron. He had been leaning on the roll out part of the desk that holds the keyboard of the computer and his weight was just too much for it. Aaron went down with it, but on the way, knocked his neck into the desk part. He quieted down after some water and of course a lollipop, but when we first saw him, we were pretty worried. Turns out, it looks a lot worse than it is. (And, yes, that is a Spiderman costume he's wearing).

Our own little igloo

Brad's latest project with the boys has been constructing an igloo outside our house. It's actually pretty cool, although not really that roomy inside. Here's a few pictures of our own little igloo!

Precious Moments

Our little girl is growing up. At six months, she can now sit up on her own, hold her own bottle (which helps mom a lot :), blabber away with repetitive nonsense, and make a mess in her high chair. She loves her brothers and is either smiling away at everything they do or crying over something they have done (they meaning Ian). She survived California sleeping well for one of ours, yet catching a cold that seems to keep coming back. Already she is a little attached and doesn't do great with strangers. I'm trying to change that by frequenting the gym (with a daycare) as much as possible. Hopefully, it works.

California Christmas

We spent Christmas in California this year. It was busy, but lots of fun. The boys got to hang out with their cousins. They just couldn't get enough of each other so of course they were tired all the time from the nonstop play days. The weather was nice especially on Christmas Eve. There is just something surreal about being able to go to the beach in the winter. I do not go in cold water, but Brad took Aaron boogie boarding and everyone enjoyed the sun. On Christmas, the boys raked in the presents. They got sunglasses, robes, transformers, power rangers, Disney Cars cars, books, and I'm sure more. They were so glad Santa knew they were in California. I'm really glad we got to go on a little field trip to the La Brea Tarpits, too. I think everyone enjoyed that. It was a nice vacation from the snow and it was so fun to be with family. We really miss that out here in Utah.
